Williams Lake, B.C. - RCMP in Williams Lake are investigating what appears to be a deliberate hit and run between a vehicle and a person riding a bike.
Police were called to a location on 3rd Avenue not far from a local convenience store early Wednesday morning. Officers found an injured cyclist laying on the road. Witnesses say a vehicle fled the scene before police arrived.
Sergeant Warren Brown with the RCMP says the incident occurred shortly after an altercation between the cyclist and some other males at the convenience store. Brown says the cyclist left the store, but was knocked off his bike by a vehicle. Police say the driver of the vehicle then stopped and drove over top of the cyclist before fleeing.
RCMP says the suspect vehicle is described as a white Chevy Impala. There were three occupants in the vehicle at the time of the incident. All are described as caucasian males in their mid to late teens.
Call Williams Lake RCMP or Crimestoppers with any tips.
