Regional District To Take a Look At Recognition and Reconciliation Discussion Paper

Prince George, B.C. – The Regional District of Fraser Fort George meets today and one of the items on the agenda is the proposed First Nations Recognition and Reconciliation Act. The Board of Directors will be asked to receive information on the proposed Act. That information includes a a prepared legal opinion on how the proposed Act would impact municipalities.
Also on the agenda, the latest building stats, which show a significant drop in the year to date numbers.
The Regional District will be asked to enter into a $20 thousand dollar contract with the 16-97 Economic Development Alliance, spend $30 thousand dollars upgrading the Tabor Lake Sewer System and approve a bylaw that will establish a local service area in Shelley to pay for 10% of the cost of river bank protection.
