Prescribed Burn at Smith River

Prince George, B.C. - Crews have successfully burnt off a prescribed area of approximately 90 hectares on the Smith River Fire.
Due to rain in the area the procedures have been put on hold. Once conditions become favourable again, possibly as early as next week, activities will resume along the west side.
There were no delays on the Alaska Highway yesterday. Smoke remains in the area and the possibility for delays still exist. For more information please contact 250-774-6956.
The fire danger rating is low to moderate across the Prince George Fire Centre.
