P.G.'s Share of Gaming Revenue Down

Slot machines are  quiet as  casino revenue is down
Prince George, B.C.- The City of Prince George won’t be getting as much money this year as its share of gaming revenue from the Treasure Cove Casino, but it’s share of revenue from the bingo hall is up.
According to the BC Lottery Corporation’s Annual report,   total gaming revenue in B.C. is down. Total revenue for ’08-’09 was $2.55 billion dollars, that’s $97.8 million less than budgeted, and $9.0 million less than ’07-’08.
In Prince George, the Chances Gaming Centre revenue from bingo was down by about $5 million dollars.
The ’08-’09 revenue from bingo was $10,518,096. The year before, the revenue from bingo was $15,064,211.
The City will get $204,473 of that revenue, up from the $7,755 it received as it’s share from the year before.
As for the Casino, $40,465,386 dollars in revenue came from the slot machines, a further $2,157,727 came from the 10 gaming tables. That adds up to total revenue of $42,623,113 down from the previous year’s total revenue of $51,266,198.
The City’s share of revenue from the Treasure Cove Casino will be $2,509,792 dollars, down from the previous year’s share which was $3,039,251.

Hmmmm, Seems like we are getting to depend on that dirty money. Next we would be looking a deregulating pot, so we can get some of those tax dollars.
The recession has hit even the Voluntary Tax Hall (aka Casino).

Even so, about $42M flowed in. Amazing.
River Point casino in Richmond will compensate the provincial ninnies in Victoria in spite of us non-gamblers here in PG.
