Prince George, B.C. –Look for new banners in the downtown and in the Civic Square.

Designed on the theme, "Celebrate Prince George - a Great Place to Be"  the banners have been designed and hand painted by local artists including students of the CNC New Media program.

The project was originally designed for 63 banners to hang on 3rd Avenue but has been expanded to include an additional 22 banners to hang in the Civic Plaza area. The 3rd Avenue banners are beginning to be installed this week and the Civic Centre Banners will be complete later this summer.

Cost to the taxpayers?
Well Im convinced.

Maybe I should get one for my car that reads "great car to drive" and it will magically turn into a Ferrari from a Jetta!?
They used students to produce the work, so that cost nothing but maybe materials.
City crews already do this type of work so the only cost is time and equipment.

What a great cost effective way to brighten things up.

Let's try to keep a positive tone with this one.
If your're a gang member.
You're right Loki. I shouldn't object to my tax dollars being spent on these feel-good make-work projects. Who cares about the roads.

"Celebrate Prince George - a Great Place to Be Leaving"

Fixed.
Well then, leave.
^^^ workin' on it like everyone else. =]
"it will magically turn into a Ferrari from a Jetta!?"

I am not sure why I would want a Ferrari if I had a Jetta. I mean, I would have to tow a trailer behind it in which to put my grocery bag.
If I take my eyes off the road to admire the new banners, I might hit a pothole and damage my truck. Maybe they should pass a law that if ya wanna look at banners ya should pull over. As if you were on a cell phone. We need more laws.
I think the banner idea was great. Some cities buy their banners. Local artists get a chance to make a positive addition to the City. Oh, yes, I like it here and plan to stay. Even be better with more positive people!
Like putting make-up on a dirty face.
