Alexis Creek Evacuation Remains in Effect

Alexis Creek, BC – The Evacuation Order that was implemented last night remains in effect for Alexis Creek in the East Chilcotin.

 An Emergency Social Services (ESS) Reception Centre is set up in the Gibraltar Room of the Cariboo Memorial Complex in Williams Lake located at 525 Proctor Road. Residents affected by the fire are asked to report into the centre where trained ESS members will be available to help. As of 4:30 p.m. today, 21 families, totalling 49 people, have registered at the centre.

No structural damage has been reported at this time.

Highway 20 at Alexis Creek remains closed until further notice. However, persons travelling to locations west of Alexis Creek may be escorted through the area upon approval by RCMP. No access is being made available to the community of Alexis Creek.
