New Scam In Prince George

Prince George- A scam has surfaced in the city which involves BC Medicare. On Friday July31st, a city resident received a call; the caller identified himself as an employee of BC Medicare.
He said the BC Care Card was expiring and would be reissued once the resident confirmed his personal information. The resident complied with the request.
On Monday August 3rd, the resident received a call from his credit card provider, advising that his credit card had been frozen following two suspicious transactions, totalling more than $4,000.
Police are asking people to never divulge any personal information over the phone.
