The New Chair of City Council's Committee on Youth, Ryan Yorston
Ryan Yorston says he was honoured when Colin Kinsley asked him a couple of weeks ago to chair the committee announced during the Mayor's inaugural address on Monday evening.
The 26-year-old narrowly failed in his first bid to run for City Council on November 19th, finishing 9th behind Debora Munoz by just 46 votes.
Now, he will chair a committee with a mandate to "harness the energy and creativity of Prince George youth." The committee is also charged with encouraging youth volunteerism and will advise City Council on youth-related issues.
Yorston says, at this point in time, he has no master plan, "We're still in the beginning stages and there will be other members on the board and I'm looking for opinions from everybody, it's not just me, it will be more people and, hopefully, we'll have a wide variety (of thoughts and ideas)."
Yorston says he has a meeting surrounding the committee's start-up on Monday and he hopes to announce the committee members in the next two weeks.
The new Chair attended last night's inaugural session of the Board of School Trustees, where he was congratulated by Bill Christie. Christie told Yorston, "If the board can be of any assistance, don't hesitate to ask."

If not then I would say Colin did the right thing bringing Ryan into a participatory role at city hall.
If there is any connection to Ryan dropping his recount then it would raise further questions aboutthe vote. IMO
