Fire Information Hot Line to Close Tonight

Prince George, B.C. - As requests for information on wildfires and evacuations have declined; the B.C. Fire Information Line at the TELUS Red Cross Call Centre will close down as of 9 p.m. tonight.
The Province, in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, opened the fire information line Aug. 2nd to provide additional support to local governments dealing with emergencies in their communities.
During the 11 days of operation a total of 101 volunteers rotated through the call centre and received more than 2,350 calls.
