Prince George, B.C. - Brett Connolly of the Prince George Cougars helped Canada to a gold medal at the Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Under-18 Hockey Tournament in the Czech Republic.

The 17-year-old Connolly returned to the line-up after missing two games with a hip flexor injury and earned one assist as Canada blasted Russia 9-2 in the final.

The Canadian team enjoyed period leads of 2-1 and 6-2. They outshot the Russians 35-22.
Canada won gold for the second straight year, outscoring its opponents 27-7 while winning all four games.
