Grow Op Discovered in Burns Lake Area

Burns Lake, B.C. - RCMP  have released details of a grow op they  searched late last week. On August 13th, Burns Lake RCMP executed two search warrants relating to marijuana grow operations.

The warrants are a result of an investigation which started with reports several weeks ago of a suspected meth lab in the Burns Lake area. Public response to the reported meth lab led police to the grow operations. In total, 900 plants were seized and destroyed.

The two sites were located on rural property, the first search was conducted on Aspen Road, located 36 kms west of Burns Lake. The site had 700 plants in two stages of growth. The second site with 200 plants was located on Clearview Drive, 2 kms south of Burns Lake. Both grow operations were located in out buildings.

One adult male was arrested at the Aspen Road site and an adult male and an adult female were arrested as a result of the Clearview Drive search. No charges have yet been laid and the investigation in on-going.
