Prince George, B.C.- A  45 year old man is in custody and will face a charge in connection with an armed robbery that happened earlier today.
RCMP say just before 1:00 this afternoon, a man threatened an employee of the Shooters Liquor Store in the 1600 block of Victoria Street with a cleaver type knife. He attempted to get away with a small amount of cash and some cigarettes but was caught in the store’s  “rat trap”, in between two sets of locked doors.
The man shattered a thick plate glass window and escaped back into the store then headed out the back door of the store.    The “rat trap” slowed down the thief long enough to allow police to set up a perimeter and watch the suspect leave the premises.
He was picked up without incident.
