Prince George, B.C.- The effects of the economic downturn are evident in the latest building permit stats for the Regional District of Fraser Fort George.
So far, this year, there have been 207 permits, 84 less than were issued for the same period last year.
33 single-family dwelling permits valued at $7,706,000 were issued in July 2009. That is the lowest number of single family dwelling permits issued in more than 5 years as July of 2005 saw 38 permits for SFD’s issued.
The overall values are also low, with year to date permit values at $11.2 million compared to last year’s mark of $19.2 million.
