Surrey, B.C.- The RCMP Federal Border Integrity Program has determined there is no evidence to support criminal charges in relation to the Ryan Jenkins investigation in Canada.

During the course of the investigation, the RCMP have learned that Ryan Jenkins crossed the border alone, on his own account, sometime between Wednesday August 19, 2009 and Thursday August 20, 2009.

On Thursday, August 20, 2009 a woman checked Ryan Jenkins into a motel, in Hope, British Columbia.  A body was discovered by motel management staff on the morning of Sunday August 23 and reported to local RCMP in Hope.  RCMP attended the scene with Forensic Identification Services and BC Coroners Service who later in the day identified the body to be that of 32 year-old Ryan Jenkins.

Consultation with lawyers and Crown has determined that there are no applicable criminal charges surrounding the Canadian investigation of Ryan Jenkins which consisted of a breach of Section 11 of the Customs Act; failing to report to Canadian authorities.
A warrant for the arrest of Ryan Jenkins was not issued in Canada until the early evening on Friday August 21, 2009.  For this reason, there is no evidence to support criminal charges against anyone who came into contact with Mr. Jenkins including the woman who dropped him off at the motel on Thursday August 20, 2009.
