Cougars Look For Split

The Prince George Cougars will try to get their first win of the season and atone for the 6-3 loss to the Spokane Chiefs on opening night last night. Levko Koper had a hat-trick for the Chiefs and Tyler Johnson also had three points, helping Spokane to the win. The Cougars Robbie Ciolfi had his first WHL multi-point game with a goal and an assist and Alex Rodgers had that same out-put last night, with Brett Connolly adding the other goal.
The 0-1 Cougars have were 4-15-0-0 in the second game of a double header after losing the first game last season and have now lost 11 of 13 to the Chiefs over the past two-plus seasons. Spokane badly out-shot Prince George last night, 52-23, with James Priestner taking the loss in goal. James Reid earned the victory between the pipes for Spokane. These teams have two more encounters after tonight, December 8 and February 26, both in Spokane. The Cougars will hit the road for three games in three nights next weekend, starting in Vancouver Friday. The next home game for the Cats is October 2 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
