Budget Consultation Hearings In P.G. October 14th

Prince George, B.C.- The Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services will be coming to Prince George October 14th to hear your thoughts on what the next provincial budget should contain.

 The budget 2010 Consultation Paper was released September 15th and the public hearings are one of your opportunities to offer input in the budget process. 

This year, in addition to the public hearings in several communities, there will be videoconference meetings in three communities, including Dawson Creek. That session is set for October 9th from 9 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. 

You may also participate by answering an on-line survey, send in a written submission or an audio or video file.

Registration for the October public hearings opens today. To register, contact committee staff by phone, 1-877-428-8337, or by e- mail: FinanceCommittee@leg.bc.ca.

 The public hearings start on Monday in Vancouver,  here is the balance of the scheduled hearings:

 Victoria

October 7

8:30a.m.-12 noon

 

 Courtenay, Cranbrook and Dawson Creek

9:00a.m.-1:00p.m.

 

Smithers

October 14

9:00a.m.-12 noon

 

Prince George

October 14

4:00p.m.-7:00p.m.

 

Kamloops

October 15

October 16

9:00a.m.-6:00p.m.

 

The consultation process closes October 23, 2009 to enable the Committee to start preparing its report, which must be completed no later than November 15.

Not another traveling circus called a consultation. What's the point, they will do as they please anyway. Just a ploy so it looks like they are listening to the populace.
