This is a very busy highway. If the driver of the car was taken to Vanderhoof, and the driver of the transport was not injured. Then one wonders why the Highway has to be closed for 6.5 hours.

There must be someway that Highway accidents can be cleared up faster. Seems that every year the time the highways are closed gets longer and longer.

Rerouting traffic in this case kept the traffic moving, but rerouting isnt always an option.
An educated guess would be either cleaning up the load, it could be dangerous goods, or damage to the road or the bridge just past Beaumont Park.

Emergency responders try their best to get the traffic moving as fast as they can, but they have to follow all safety procedures.

Palopu
Whenever there is a commercial transport type vehicle involved the investigating time is multiplied because along with the RCMP investigation Transport Canada,WorkSafe, the companies insurance carrier, the company itself all get involved. And this is without a fatality - it is even worse then. And if there is a environmental issue- well it is lucky the road re-opened at all!!!
You are right, there is definatly a fine tooth comb brought out when a commercial vehicle is involved in an incident, they are held to a much higher standard than your average car.
Shortly after two an ambulance came through Vanderhoof and headed for PG with lights and siren on - are they sure they didnt take this person in to PG?
Best wishes to him either way
So what we are saying is that Worksafe, Business,,,Insurance Companies, etc; have the ((right)) to slow down, divert, delay, and generally impose on thousands of Citizens so that they can be sure that their asses are covered.????
