By 250 Sports
PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Spruce Kings have made a player trade with the Winkler Flyers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). Joe Becker has been traded to the Flyers in exchange for future considerations.
Becker, a nineteen year old forward from Moorhead Minnesota, joined the Spruce Kings for the 2008/09 season playing in 48 games where he picked up 8 points and 17 minutes in penalties. Sidelined for the first few games of this season, Becker was able to suit up for six games this season.
"We wanted to give (Joe) Becker an opportunity to play more," stated Spruce Kings general manager, Ed Dempsey. "He will get more ice time in Winkler and will also have a chance to be more of a contributor. This move will also free up more ice time for some of our younger guys."
The Prince George Spruce Kings thank Joe Becker for all of his contributions to the team both on and off the ice and wish him all the best with his new team and his hockey career.
