If CN hadnt bought out BC Rail, the headline would read BC Rail off tracks east of Ft St James. Derailments are not unusual for Railways, especially during winter months during cold weather.

They have been happening for years it just seems they are more news worthy this year.
How many railway employees are actually on the train?

I recall the uproar when the railways wanted to eliminate the the person at the tail end of the train.

What happened with that? Is there only one Engineer on a freight train? Is he or she mostly concerned with what's ahead of the train, or what is happening with the cars that are being towed? Makes one wonder just what is happening out there? Chester
Ya, if there was a guy in the caboose he'd be really cranky with the driver if he gets his coffee spilt. We could get a really good first hand account of what it looked like from the back end of the train, that would be handy. Nothing better than a scary news story to entertain us. Who wants to ride the caboose, hang on tight!
