Prince George , B.C. – The clock is ticking towards the visit from the Canada Winter Games 2015 selection committee.
The Committee will be in Prince George November 9th to examine the City’s technical capacity to host the games. That is the eve of the Road to the Roar curling event.
Prince George, is in competition with Kamloops and Kelowna in vying for the games. “The committee will be here for 8 hours only and they have asked us to be very thorough” says Leisure Services Interim Manager Colleen Van Mook.
She says once all three communities have been visited, the Committee will contact those still in the running by no later than December eleventh advising if they are into the next phase.

Don't send them into the downtown core.
A bit of snow is forecast for the 7/8/9. Hopefully there won't be enough so that they will not notice that we have no money to plough the streets.
lol!...good one gus!
Here would be a great place for the budget committee to start their cutbacks for city spending.
A Canada Games would be a great, great thing for this community.
I hope the Committee sees the great people and great facilities we have and smartly decides to award us the Games in 2015.
Wow we are sure lucky in PG. We have BC going in debt for the Olympics and now PG falling into the same spend money on a party. Oh yes I am sure we will be told that it will create jobs and income. And I am sure it will not have cost over runs! *rolling eyes But in the end nothing good will come of it and not only will we be on the hook and in debt for both but no one will care to take the blame. We are still not out of the recession yet and lots still have no jobs but lets put on a party for yet again the rich. What a joke!
Dont give up. If we get really lucky Kamloops or Kelowna will get the games.

In my opinion that would be great. I think it time we backed away from all this hype and concentrated on the basics. Not the least of which is reducing City Staff, and reducing taxes.

Let the games NOT begin.
Got panhandled today at Pine Centre Mall. Last week at the Stupidstore. Them downtown bums know no boundaries now, I guess. Hope these visitors don't get panhandled while here. No need to go downtown anymore. Or maybe all the bums moved out of downtown to panhandle because there is no one coming downtown anymore. Hmmmm?
