Prince George, B.C. - Forests for The world has finally reopened to the public now that the forest fuel treatment is complete.
Dead pine trees were removed from this area to reduce the fire hazard and increase user safety. By next spring the brush and herbaceous plants will have greened up and much of the visual impact from the pine removal will be reduced.
During the course of understory fuel treatments at Forests for the World, 27 people received training and job experience through the Job Creation Partnership program: over half of them were hired by other employers allowing others to be trained in their place.
