I guess as long as you send money to the SPCA, they aren't going to complain about these actities.
Any other time there is an activity here animals are asked to do unnatural things the SPCA sure seem to belly-ache.....
Racer. I don't think putting a costume on your dog for 5 minutes (for charity) even remotely measures up to the abuse the SPCA would be concerned about. If you consider that "unnatural" maybe you are the sensitive belly acher.
A lot of breeds crave this sort of thing.
My dog on the other hand not so much. So nice to see the funds raised! The SPCA is very deserving. The people that work in that building work hard and have huge hearts. It would be nice to one day see an even bigger facility available so animals aren't turned away. Also to have a big enough room to be used for exercise during winter months when the yards are full of snow.
According to Animal Rights advocates, the unnatural thing is the ownership of such animals as dogs and cats. They feel we should forget about thousands of years of breeding make it illegal to own such animals and have no more after the ones currently alive have died.
Well put Gus.I imagine some animal rights groups would have a problem with this, luckly the spca is an animal welfare group.
Well there is this one breed that I had to shake my head at. My daughters and I watch that show where they talk about 3 breeds at a time anyway I think it was the French Bulldog (I'd have to look it up) The French Bulldog is so top heavy and narrow hipped that they have to artificially inseminate the female then to deliver she must have a C Section.
There wasn't a French Bull there but there were two puggles. The English Bull is the breed should to be delivered CC section. There have been vaginal births but it is not recommended.
There were some great dogs. All were winners.
I'd rather watch elephants.
I have to say Puggles are extremely adorable. The pet store in College Heights had two puggle pups in it the other week! We spent all day at Cottonwood walking on the riverbed but I bet my girls would've loved to be at the fashion show. We saw a beautiful fox which I'm sure made up for it!
:)
Is there going to be another show in the near future?
Heidi, CNC does it every year.
