Prince George- Police arrested a 17 year old youth today, after police were alerted that a man was packing what was believed to be a handgun.

Police were called at 10.18 Friday morning, to a local hotel ,  over the report a young man was packing a chrome/silver handgun, but he was not located. A short time later police were called to the Intersect Office and he was taken into custody at gun point.

Police warm people against displaying any replica firearm. The results can be tragic.

When would these idiots learn..... I guess they never will, shoot them. Before they start to pass on the stupid genes.
But when they get shot, people whine and complain that that the rights of these dingalings were infringed upon.
Shoot them? Stupid genes? Dingalings? Uh ok.
What are you trying to say heidi. This is normal and acceptable behavier and we should just ignore it. WTF
17 years old? Hmmm? No name as usual. If we would know his name maybe we could ridicule him to death fer being so stupid. As it stands, just give him a fake trial, fake probation, and a lecture he will probably forget.
From what I see, most of our kids are pretty good. The ones that make it into the news are the ones that will probably still be making it into the news years from now. They just don't get it. The courts do nothing to stop them. Many of them have parents that don't hold them accountable. We have all sorts of bleeding hearts that make excuses for their behaviors. So, shy shouldn't they act in a misappropriate way? There's no real penalty. The good kids will continue to be good and the dingalings will continue to be dingalings. They'll continue to behave this way until...

You can insert any other derogatory word in place of "dingaling" if it makes you feel better.
As my dear old Mom would say, There is only one cure for stupidity. .... Death
I found the first two comments to be quite offensive. For years now most people in Canada and around the world have wanted to see the RCMP do a job well done and this is what they did with this kid.
Sorry some of you didn't get to see this kids blood splattered all over the ground.
Because you wtf'd me cougs I guess I'll be honest with you and say that when I read the first two posts I thought to myself, "Speaking of dingalings!"
Surprised to see nobody congratulated the RCMP for a job well done...I guess I'll be the first. Congrats!

And because he is so young I'd hope he learns his lesson!
I guess I was one of the first two comments, hence I must be offensive and a dingaling in the eyes of some. My comment in no way asked to see the kid's blood splattered all over the place. My point is that whenever anyone does anything to stop these people from doing things that the average law-abiding people of the world don't do, there is a whole bunch of people that immediately start whining and complaining that the rights of the criminal are being/have been violated and then they make excuses for them. I for one am sick and tired of watching the revolving doors in our system that do nothing to solve the problems. Will this be the last time this youth deals with the police? I don't know? Will it?

As for congratulating the RCMP for doing a good job, I always used to. When I see them doing a good job again I will again supply praise.

Sorry to have offended you heidi.
If this fine upstanding attention seeker, had been tackled to the ground and rendered unconscious by a concerned citizen, who would be in a jail cell?
Times have sure changed, back in the 60's wee used to walk through town with our BB and pellet guns on the way to the bush fro target practise, no problems.
I'm sorry too My3 you're not a dingaling. (Now watch you're probably my next door neighbour) It was me being honest about my first thoughts on reading comments....sigh. I don't agree with him carrying a toy gun around. He was dealt with accordingly.

I'd like to know why he was carrying a toy gun around? Was he being bullied, does he have mental issues and wasn't being supervised or was he trying to look tough and cause trouble? We don't know the whole story and neither did the police at the time so it's nice to see it end the way it did.

I'd love to hear stories on how every one of us acted at that age actually. What was the most dingaling thing you've done and did you learn your lesson?
I try to keep the stupid things I did as a youth quiet. However, I don't remember doing anything that would have gotten me shot or locked up. The envelope we pushed was not the same as the one being pushed against today. Did I learn my lesson? I should have run faster, denied my involvement more loudly, hired a better lawyer... Seriously though, yes I did learn my lessons. But, the times were different. If you got caught doing something, YOU weren't the victim.
I may be wrong but I thought he had been released. If he has mental health issues I doubt they will be addressed on the street
I would suggest a couple of days up on the hill just to get a taste of what the future holds if he doesn't clean up his act!
They do it because these little punks know they are pretty much untouchable.
True but nobody is a victim unless killed unnecessarily.
So, when I got mugged in SanFrancisco years back I wasn't a victim? Now I'm really confused.
No, no sorry My3. I meant in this type of situation. You should be confused as I didn't finish my thought. I posted what comment I had instead of x'ing out.(I had to get up off computer for the kids) Too much fresh air today I guess.....the river is awesome this time of year! :)

You said if you got caught doing something you weren't the victim so I meant no you wouldn't be the victim unless killed unnecessarily. Then I was going to say or beaten unnecessarily or tazed.....blah blah.
The punishment has to fit the crime. Anyway, this kid better learn his lesson. Let's hope!
