Power Outages Hit Area Hard

Prince George- BC Hydro says there are still 2278 customers in the central interior without power after the area was hit with a series of snow dumps.

As of 7.45am. Tuesday morning Hydro was reporting 2278 customers without power from PG to The West Coast. Upwards of 12,000 customers have been hit with power outages during the storm. Hydro has been able to restore service to many of them.

In the Lower Mainland, Sunshine Coast they are reporting 12,577 customers  without power today.

I know these storms hit hard and fast, but it seems to me that we have more power outages than we used to?
To all the B.C hydro crews that have been working so hard in the past few days, (24/7)Thanks for all your efforts. Although I wasn't affected, My guess is that you have to find the problems before you can fix them and that must be a real challange in itself. Not to mention being 50 or 60 feet up in a bucket truck at 3 in the morning in the wind and snow, trying to splice with frozen fingers and other body parts. Seems to me that its a job that you don't get to make many mistakes in and still make it home safely.
