Prince George, B.C.- The City of Prince George will be under the gaze of two judges from the National WinterLights organization  today and tomorrow.

The two judges (Karen Neerhof from Ontario and Claude Lechance from Quebec) will be evaluating Prince George’s entry in the  National WinterLights competition for 2009.

The judges will be looking at aspects of what makes Prince George a vibrant and liveable “winter city”.

The judging criteria include areas such as: Festive Celebrations, Winter Pleasures, Goodwill Programs, Visual Presentation and Tourism & Promotion.

Prince George will be competing against Kingston Ontario, Brampton Ontario, Barrie Ontario, Halifax Nova Scotia and Kamloops.

While here, the judges will visit various facilities and venues in the city, including Exploration Place, the Festival of Trees, downtown light displays in various storefront windows and Connaught Hill to tour the Northern Lights Festival displays.

Their tour will be capped off with a visit to the Two Rivers Art Gallery from which they will view the Civic Plaza light up ceremonies on Wednesday.

Popular contest.
If you happen to get shot in a now famous, PG driveby or gang shooting in the winter, and you land in the snow, perhaps the intense cold could increase your 'livability'for a while.
Good Luck Prince George! Unless of course the tax payers had to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to enter? *Kidding! LOL
"The Eternal Optimoists"
Dont forget to tour Candy Cane Lane It will probably put the City effort to shame.
Cheers
