Well I suppose if you think General Hillier or General Gautier have no credibility...then you might find this funny.

For me, I am inclined to accept the words of these two distinguished military leaders over a bureacrat who appears to have gotten his information second or third hand, or from Taliban prisoners themselves...Gee I wonder if the Taliban told Collvin the truth? Ya think?
So; what you are saying is that the RED CROSS repeatedly lied?
Denjalo...you and I must be watching or reading different media...

The Red Cross has presented no substantiated..repeat, NO SUBSTANTIATED evidence of torture. In addition, the lady from Corrections Canada clearly said she saw zero evidence of torture during any of her many inspections to the prisons...

Now I go back to Hillier and Goutier, two honorable military people who have served our country with integrity and dignity.

Their word is good for me.
Who cares if there was or was not torture at this point... its the process that counts. Most people just don't get it.

The process is about getting the Afghani's to believe that we are working to root out corruption on their behalf, so that they will work with us in building the institutions their country needs... so we can get out of there. In that regard Collvin and his report are worth more than a whole Canadian division of solders on the ground in Afghanistan.. for those with half a brain to think with.

The facts are nobody really thinks Harper and the conservatives endorsed torture, not even the accusers, so this isn't about that and its why guys like defense minister McKay have been making a fool out of himself on the issue. Probably the dumbest double talking defense minister in Canadian history creating perception problems of his own making.

The sooner we root out Afghan corruption and get the Afghani's to have more trust in 'their' government, then the sooner we leave Afghanistan IMO.
