Quesnel, B.C. – Quesnel  RCMP Drug Section has executed a search warrant at a West Fraser Road residence yesterday where they seized more than 2800 marijuana plants along with grow o p equipment. The RCMP claim hydro lines had also been tampered with and they allege the   occupants of the home were stealing electrical power to operate the grow op.   No one was home when the warrant was executed, however, police are looking for a male who is   linked to the residence.
The RCMP allege the occupants are from the lower mainland and are linked to Asian organized crime.   This is the 6th grow op linked to Asian Organized Crime that the Quesnel RCMP Drug Section has  taken down this year.

There are one of two things in play in Quesnel. One: They have a hell of a drug unit. Two: The grow op people are not so bright.
2800 plants. Good haul. Shows how extensive the drug pipeline is in BC.
I think we have an awesome drug section in Quesnel Good Work KEEP IT UP and lets show these people that we are serious about keeping drugs out of our community :)

It was not outstanding investigation that found this grow op, it was the theft of hydro that brought them down.

In reality, if you don't steal the power, BC hydro doesn't give hoot what you are doing and will not report "excessive use".

justmythoughts: find and watch reefer madness, and the union.
Marijuana is not a drug, it is a weed that grows abundantly in the ditches in the USA Midwest and other temperate zones around the world. What is cultivated for the desired high is a sub species specifically grown for its high concentration of the active ingredients which is primarily delta 9 tetrahydorcannibinol (THC). THC by itself does not produce the desired effects as was proven when it was synthesized for oral consumption. It is the unique combination of substances in the plant that produce the desired effects.

Drugs like processed opiates and cocaine along with every recreational drug from a lab should indeed be prohibited. Then, so should alcohol. IMO they should be prohibited because of the harm they cause users and bystanders. With weed, the user just does nothing and there are no proven chronic effects. In the event of consuming an access amount of weed, the user just has a nice nap. It's the contemporary version of a single drink of alcohol after a hard day at work, but you accept that.

Research your history. The prohibition of marijuana and having it on the same drug schedule as the hard drugs was nothing more than a way to secure a fiber supply for a major land owner in the early twentieth century. See Ralph Randall Hearst.

Don't be a sheeple, seek the truth, not the propaganda spewed by those in power. Those in power have their own commitments and agendas to satisfy their funding contributors.
hmmmm, I bet, this operations was supported by Frito Lays, Hostess, Old dutch, Hawkins and all the snack companies.
Do sheeple smoke marijuana?
metalman.
Sounds like the rationalizations of a pot smoker to me.
Loki - This post has shed alot of light onto some of your other posts... now I know what you do in your spare time. Trust me, BC Hydro checks this stuff (or in your words, they do give a "hoot") I recently built a shop and some large renos and my hydro bill went through the roof for a few months. Guess what, it was noticed.
ps - reefer madness was pre WWII - I suspect the drug trade has changed a little since your source of information.
Drug laws are kinda weak in these parts. Fine them for allowing unregulated greenhouse gases to escape into the atmosphere causing global warming. Get Al Gore or Dave Yamaha to come to the trial and tell these drug growers that they are wrecking our children's world. If there will be a trial.
