Man Shot by Police in Smithers, Faces Charges

Prince George, B.C.- One count of Possession of Stolen Property and one count of Dangerous Driving have been approved for Cole Christopher Foos, 25 years old, originally from California. He is the man police attempted to remove from a stolen truck in Smithers November 21st. Police say Foos was trying to flee from police, the officer was being dragged by the vehicle, and the officer shot Foos more than once. Foos was transferred to hospital in Vancouver where he was treated and released. He is expected to make a full recovery. At the time of his release from hospital, Foos was arrested by RCMP members and is currently being held until his next court appearance scheduled for December 4th, 2009.
