Atlin Police Seek Help In Hit And Run

Atlin- Police are seeking assistance in trying to locate the driver of a vehicle that struck a man walking along Warm Bay Rd. toward Atlin on Friday November 20-2009 between 3.30 and 6.30 am.
A 22 year old Atlin male was walking on Warm Bay Road toward Atlin, BC. The male was struck
from behind by a vehicle of unknown make or description, which did not stop. The individual walked
under his own power to a local Laundromat, approximately 1 to 2 kilometres away, where he took
refuge from the cold. The male was unable to summons further assistance due to his injuries and
remained there alone for hours.
He was found at approximately 8:30 AM by a community
member attending the Laundromat. He was transported to the Atlin Healthcare Centre and then on
to the Whitehorse General Hospital where he was found to have suffered serious injuries as a result
of the incident.
The Atlin RCMP have conducted an exhaustive investigation to date, but have not yet identified the
driver or vehicle, and are seeking the assistance of the public. The Atlin RCMP would like to speak
to anyone whom may have been driving in Atlin or knows someone that was driving during the
hours of 3:30 AM and 6:30 AM on Friday November 20, 2009. In addition, anyone else whom may
have information with respect to this incident, is asked to contact the Atlin RCMP Detachment at
