Re: UNBC and Len McNamara reach an Agreement

Dear Prince George:

I want to thank the community of Prince George for your support and the enthusiasm that you have shown to UNBC Athletics and Recreation during my employment as the Athletics and Recreation Director. Whether it was through volunteering your time, pledging donations or cheering on our teams, your contributions have enabled our programs, events and students to reach out beyond our University to be positive contributors to our northern way of life.

I would like to thank my coaches, co-workers at UNBC and the members of the Timberwolves Athletic Association who all shared a passion for the success of Athletics and Recreation at UNBC.  To Shirley Bond, Bill Lynch, Godfrey Medhurst and Lorraine Thomson, thank you for your guidance and support in the building of our Northern Sport Centre and seeing this project as an important entity in strengthening the tie between the University and our community. To the media, who have continually supported and kept the community informed; our strong bid to bring Canada West to UNBC and Prince George would not have been possible without your dedication to bring athletic excellence to our University.

To our new president, Dr. Iwama, I appreciate your recognition of my accomplishments in Athletics and Recreation and the leadership I displayed during my tenure. The Athletics and Recreation programs have been developed to the point where they are now on solid foundations that will ensure further growth and continued success for UNBC.

To the students of UNBC, the Athletics and Recreation department has always held you in the highest esteem. In the development of your recreational facilities, services and programming as well as in the delivery of athletic and recreational events, our goal was to try to enhance your experiences at UNBC, ones that will long be remembered and enjoyed with fellow students.

Thank you Prince George and UNBC. It has been a great experience!

Sincerely yours,

Len McNamara
