Prince George, B.C.- While the report of the Commissioner for   Complaints Against the RCMP slammed the RCMP for their handling of the Robert Dziekanski case,   there is more to come.
Dziekanski died in the Vancouver Airport in October of 2007 after being tasered numerous times.
Speaking on the Meisner program on CFISFM this morning, Justice Wallace Gilby-Craig, ( retired) says the Braidwood inquiry, which has yet to release its final report, can come close to suggesting charges “Braidwood will have to decide what caused this man’s death, either direct cause or a connected cause, was it an accident, was it caused by negligence, or was it caused by a criminal act?”
Gilby-Craig says if Braidwood should decide Dziekanski’s death was the result of a criminal act, then it will be up to the Provincial Crown to decide if it is in the public interest to prosecute the officers involved. “If that had been 4 bouncers at a bar, they would have been charged long ago” says Gilby-Craig, “What the hell is the difference between four bouncers subduing a patron who then dies, and 4 police officers subduing a suspect who then dies?”
Zygmunt Riddle who is a close friend of Dziekanski’s mother, says the Polish courts continue to look  at the case. He says he expects the Polish prosecutors  will lay charges against the four RCMP officers.   Riddle says it is likely charges could have been laid before now, but Polish prosecutors say they are waiting for the results of the Braidwood inquiry.

Hmmmm, does that me they can not go to Poland? or they just are not allowed to buy and Sezame Crisps.

If the Polish government does lay charges, the four involved might find travel out of Canada difficult.
They may not go to Poland but then Roman Polanski, in spite of his money and power has now discovered other countries have extradition treaties with other than the country that had charged him. The USA wanted him on an old charge; he was picked up in Switzerland. Poland has the same extradition agreement with most countries including the USA and Mexico.
The rcmp member's club cannot protect the four if they leave Canada.
It is obvious that many people believe that the rcmp members did wrong in their handling of Mr. D.
metalman.
No Disneyland for these cops? Bummer!
