The Council of Forest Industries Northern Vice-President, Doug Routledge, and Forest Education Manager Chris Lear recently completed their final community relations and forest educaton tour of the year, visiting the Fort St. John and Fort Nelson areas.

According to Lear, the trip provided an opportunity to meet with incoming Mayor Jim Eglinski in Fort St. John and brief him on COFI and its programs.

Lear says a meeting in Fort Nelson with council and the local Chamber of Commerce focused on forestry issues in that region, including a recent increase in regional spruce budworm attack.

While on the trip, the two COFI reps also met with senior Canfor officials in both communities as well as senior reps from Peace Valley OSB -- BC's newest OSB facility -- to discuss the Council's forest education program plans and budget for 2006.
