Victims Identified In Fatal Crash

The RCMP's North District Traffic Services has released the names of the two people killed in yesterday's crash west of the city...

The fatal two-vehicle collision occurred approximately 10-kilometres west of Prince George, near Hartman Road and claimed the life of 32-year-old city resident Shawn Wyatt, the driver of a westbound van.  

Police say 68-year-old Joan Gardener of Vanderhoof, a passenger in an oncoming pick-up truck was also killed, the 75-year-old male driver is in critical condition in PGRH.

The crash occurred around 10am yesterday morning after freezing rain had coated many of the highways and streets in the area.  Police continue to investigate but say road conditions and speed are being looked at as factors in the collision.

The highway has been closed for hours as a result.
