Emergency Vehicles and crews at Victoria Towers this morning
Prince George, B.C.- Residents of the Victoria Tower apartment building on 20th Avenue are being allowed back into their suites after being forced from their homes around 5 this morning.
Smoked had filled the sixth floor of the building, and emergency personnel went door to door to make sure everyone left the building. Several residents called 911 to report being trapped in their suites, but all were brought out safely. However, one person in the apartment where the fire originated had to be rescued from a balcony and did sustain some smoke inhalation. She was treated on scene by ambulance and taken to hospital.

Brad Beckett, Recreation Services Supervisor in charge of Emergency Response for the City of Prince George says just over 50 people were taken to the Civic Centre where they were given food and shelter.

Fire crews are mopping up operations in a sixth floor apartment. The cause of the fire, or estimate of damage are not immediately known.
