Kings Lose to Merritt

Dustin Johnson scored four times for Merritt. He tied the game at 4
with 5:11 left in the 3rd period and then notched the winner 1:50 later
with just 3:21 remaining.

 Brooks Robinson had given P.G. a 4-3 lead early in the final period. Wes
McLeod, Nick DeSousa and Josh Pineiro also tallied for the Spruce Kings,
who were outshot 39-30.

It was the Spruce Kings 3rd road loss in as many days in their final
action in 2009. They were also beaten 5-4 in overtime Saturday in Salmon
Arm and 5-3 Friday in Westside.

The loss drops the (12-24-1-3) Spruce Kings into 7th place in the
Interior Conference, two points behind Merritt and Quesnel and just one
ahead of Trail.

Kings scored 11 goals over three games this weekend and didn't come away with one single win.
