Prince George- The search continues today for a  man  unaccounted for since flames ripped through the NT Air Hangar on Saturday.

Meantime, the manager of Prince George Operations of NT Air, Bill Hesse says, the air ambulance that is operated by NT Air is being stored in the Esso hangar at the Prince George Airport which will allow his company to operate the air ambulance as needed.

Hesse says a shift of Engineers, along with an off duty pilot, was able to save about $14 million dollars in aircraft before the hangar was completely engulfed by flames Saturday afternoon.
Their efforts resulted in 3 Beech Air 1900’s, a King Air 350, a Cessna Caravan, and 3 private airplanes being saved from the flames. Heese says not everythingwas saved "We lost about $4-500,000 dollars in parts and a $300,000 engine to the fire."

The building is not owned by either the Airport Authority or NT Air but rather a private Prince George company.

It is not known whether or how much insurance was carried on the building at the time of the blaze.

The blaze on Saturday levelled the  hangar.  Officials  have begun the  task of removing rubble from the site  and fear they may  uncover the remains of a 53 year old  Prince  George man who  has not been  heard from since the fire started.  His family, concerned for his safety,  has contacted  authorities. At this point RCMP  will only say the man, who is not an  NT Air employee,  is "unaccounted  for."

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
