Winter Officially Arrives Later This Morning

Prince George, B.C.-   It has seemed like winter for some time now, but,    winter will officially arrive at 9:47 this morning.
That makes December 21st the shortest day of the year, and the one with the longest night.
Starting tomorrow, the days will start to get longer,   to their maximum time between sunrise   and sunset on June 21st.

It's all uphill from here. We're coming out of the tunnel.
So, global warming means what to us. more snow and cold for the interior, I think we are not getting a fair shake on this deal.
The prediction is that as the globe warms, for whatever reason, this part of the world will beome more coastal in nature - a reduction of temperature extremes with higher average low temps in the winter and lower average high temps in the summer. Accompanying that will be some increase in precipitation.

As I recall the past 10 years over say a 10 year period before that 1990's and especially before that 1980's it appears to fit on average.
