I am not sure if I have any words of wisdom on this Christmas day, but I want to extend a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year, from my family, wife Brenda, son Lucas and daughter Lexine, to you and your family.

Christmas has different meanings to people, and in general, I believe that the holiday season brings out the best in all of us. Ideally, it would be terrific to have the festive spirit year round. As we enjoy this time of year an opportunity presents itself to put differences aside and reflect on our fortunes, and not our desires or what we envy.

Indeed, one receives more satisfaction in giving than receiving. To this end, I can proudly say that Prince George is certainly a generous community and therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to salute all the volunteers, for making a difference.

We all hold opinions, and as a result, sometimes it is frustrating to hear the opposite point of view, but life would be dull if we all agreed on everything.

I think we should be thankful for having a forum like this to voice our thoughts. Yes, Ben and Elaine Meisner, started the Opinion 250 website 4 ½ years ago, which allowed everyone an opportunity to be heard. This chance certainly speaks volumes.

I am fortunate in that I am able to express myself on radio stations CJCI (Wolf) and CIRX (94X), plus
Shaw TV, the PG Free Press, and this 250 website. For this, I am grateful and realize it is a privilege and not a right.

I want to thank my regular column quote contributors, many of whom do not receive monetary compensation. They submit their entries as a hobby and for enjoyment and entertainment.

I would also like to extend my best wishes and happy holidays to my co-workers, contacts, acquaintances, and of course, friends and family. I hope that you, the reader of this column, have a terrific festive season.

Take care and be safe. Regardless of your beliefs and convictions, let us not take anything for granted and cherish the moment of this Christmas day.
