Truck "recovered" in the company yard??? So some fatso finally got off his butt and checked the parking lot? Nice catch, Wiggum.
My goodness gamblor - take a pill.
sounds like he dont wanna be found.
The Company yard in Prince George is just some leased space, and as far as I know there are no employees working there. Just a place to store the trucks. So no **fatso** on payroll, and therefore no sense to the above comment.
The ABC trucks are dispatched by cell phone from Vernon I think. Not much of a surprise they wouldn't know whats going on if someone didn't show up in Quesnel for a haul. The guy probably went out to get some milk and breed from the corner store is all.... I wonder what he was served with (no drivers license probably lol)....
First of all..."gamblor"...and the rest of you...That is my father thats missing...He has children, two grandsons...and hes a hard working guy...be a help not a hinderance... I have photos if anyone would like to help thanks...jenniferkemshaw@live.ca....and now I'm crying at work, god people can be really mean...
and yeah, he does have a drivers license...god..wtf is the matter with you people...not one a license but a family too
Jennifer,

a couple of questions if you dont mind,

Did he leave Quesnel in the morning and was expected back in Quesnel that evening?

If so, he dropped his rig in the PG yard on River Road, did he have transportation there? If he left from Quesnel did he leave his personal vehicle there?

Was he an owner operator or a company driver?

I guess Im asking if there is a personal vehicle we should look out for, a pickup, a car, maybe he still has it or somebody else is in possesion?
Jennifer, as for Eagleones comments about a drivers liscense, that was a dumb ass comment, there is an underlying tone of dislike between the "green" residents of PG and the trucking community. I dont think they meant any harm, just trying to be an smart ass. gamblor's comment, just another naive jerkoff.

Anybody with half a brain knows you have to submit a drivers abstract before you can work for any company that has a National Safety Code number.
Green living... well, we grew up on Quadra Island, we made our own food, we raised our own meat, thats how I grew up with him, but then the fishing industry dropped and he had to move to Northern BC to work...so hopefully that'll settle them down and they can actually be productive.

His personal vehicle is with his boss in Quensnel, the company truck was were it was suppose to be picked up. There is evidence that he had a meal in the truck, foot prints, and then nothing, hes just gone. I spoke to him on the 17th last, he said he was going to call on Tuesday, before my son and I went for our trip back to the Island for Christmas, and he never called, I thought it was weird 'cause hes really good about that sort of thing and my brother was visiting and he was looking forward to speaking with him as well. The last email I got from him, also on the 17th, sounded upbeat and like he was doing well, he had just moved to Quesnel from PG. I don't really know any of his friends there ... gosh, when I think about it he's been away for 5 years now.

So as I understand it he dropped off his truck at the River Road yard, and thats the last trace of him? That is very concerning, especially if his personal vehicle is still in Quesnel, he must have had prior arrangments to return to Quesnel?

Is there any possibilty that he hooked up with a long haul driver and headed out with them as a 2nd driver, or a camp job came up and he jumped at it?

Other than that yes there is every reason to be concerned, I dont think the stories on this site nor the PG Citizen do it any justice, maybe if they gave a few more details it might help jog peoples memories, but the stories almost make it sound like nothing serious is going on, also a possible reason for the unappreciated responces.
Yeah I just found out last night on my way home from Christmas on the Island with my mom, so the police are just finally getting a photo of him today, and I've spoke with his boss and they're quite concerned...Its pretty unfair that people are being so mean about it, especially this time of year, but I suppose people can be cinical, to each their own.

Best case is that he see's that people are looking for him and calls me...its just troubling that he'd abandon a brand new truck he just purchased two weeks before, that's not like him, or like anyone for that matter..

I know Christmas can be hard on people, but he's a nice guy, and he really enjoys his job, in some cases I might think he would just use his paycheque and go find somewhere else to be, but somethings just not sitting right with me...time will tell I suppose

Good news...sort of...they've found him, he was hospitalized...thanks for your support, and to the rest for your lack there of...

Happy 2010!
Were happy for you Jennifer,

I hope it all works out well.
I'm so glad you've found him Jennifer! Good luck, and I hope all is well!
Well he probably just got his first check from Chambers and seen how small it was. Can't say as I blame him. I would walk away too!

Instead of being a dimwit, why dont you try reading a bit. The man who was missing has been in the hospital for the past 7 days, he had no local family here and it was not reported to his boss. Many people were worried.
Yes my comment was made in jest and not very appropriate on second thought. My appology if it caused you any distress Jennifer. I just thought it was a strange story and I also heard last week the road checks got a Chambers driver with a suspended license, but that could have been just a rummor that led me on a tangent with the drivers license comment relating to the 'legal papers' mentioned in the story.

Most outfits are sent info on any driver infractions by their drivers, so it would be odd, but one never really knows I guess.

I'm glad to hear things worked out anyways.
Eagleone,

The way it works if you have any changes to your license status you are required by law to report it immediately to your employer.

As a follow up any infraction that has taken place in a commercial vehicle, the owner is notified by mail from the RCMP, NSC and sometimes WCB about the infraction.

When a driver is hired they are required to supply a current drivers abstract before their 1st trip. As a follow up the employer then has to receive a drivers abstract every 6 months and have to be kept on file for 3 years.

Where the situation gets cloudy is if the driver has an infraction while in their personal vehicle. The new privacy laws prohibit any information from being sent to your employer, which is why it is now law for the driver to report any infractions.

If a driver gets a suspended license and does not report it, the driver then becomes liable for problems which may occur, but there is no way to protect the company from this happening.
