Brian and Barb Oke, proud parents of Logan Dominic, Prince George's New Year's Baby

Prince George, B.C.- Although his due date was New Year’s Eve, neither Mom Barb, or Dad Brian expected Logan Dominic Oke would be the New Year’s Baby for Prince George.

“We just hoped he wouldn’t be born at Christmas” says Brian, “that is such a busy, busy time for everyone.”

This is Barb and Brian Oke’s second child. Big brother Calem, who is 2 and a half, is very excited about having his own “baby”.

Barb, a Northern Health employee, says she initially went into labour much earlier on New Year’s Eve “We first came to the hospital around 9:00 last night when my water broke, then went home, watched the fireworks at midnight and came back to the hospital at 12:30.” Logan Dominic was born just 2 hours and 18 minutes later.

Logan weighed in at 8 lbs 3 oz.
