Prince George, B.C.- Gas prices jumped in Prince George today,   climbing 5 cents per litre.

It had been 97.9 cents for a litre of regular gas, but by the time people got out of bed  after a late night of  celebrating  the New Year, the price had ballooned to $102.9.

According to the Canadian centre for Policy Alternatives, with today's crude oil price of $79.36 USD per barrel and the US dollar at $1.05 CAD, the price of regular unleaded gasoline in Prince George should be $1.01 per litre at normal profit margins.

That extra 1.9 cents generates an additional profit of $1.9 million dollars a day for the oil companies.

Aaaaaaah! Yeah! Good old Free Enterprise in action.
Big oils time is limited. They best squeeze what profit they can now. With the anti CO2 gang out in force it won't be long until gas is illegal.
You wish Ruez. There's at least 50 years of oil reserves that we have now. Open up exploration in the ocean and that number triples at least.
Takes forever to come down, but takes no time at all when oil prices go up!
Yep three cents a gallon in the USA and twenty here, gotta love the metric system
Isn't it always amazing how all the stations in town simultaneously decide to raise their pricing the exact same amount, at the same time.

If they have not been busted for price fixing yet, there is a problem with the system.
whoah, hold the horses....saturday and some are still at 97.9...competition ? will either price stick....tba
saw a couple at 97.7....loving it!
gases up...that will teach them gougers...
I like how everyone bitches about big oil, where as big green will really screw you and make big oil look like amateurs.

Now as you all bitch about oil profits ever notice the little sticker on the pump showing the tax grab. Now if the greenies have thier way pushing bad C02 science and we wind up plugging in our cars, where is that tax going to come from? You betcha a mileage tax. Oh by the way look at all the greenie taxes one already pays on just about everything you buy. Where does that money go? Does anyone care?

All greenie taxes go to the Irish.
from the article:

"According to the Canadian centre for Policy Alternatives ..... the price of regular unleaded gasoline in Prince George should be $1.01 per litre at normal profit margins."

So, at 4:30 pm this afternoon, I purchased regular gasoline at 97.9 cents/litre at SuperStore and, of course, received the 5 cent per gallon credit towards purchases at the store.

I immediately went in to apply the credit to the purchase of fake logs to use in my wood burning fireplace.
The greenie tax money goes to pay tribute to those that literally create the "money" they're paid in. Same as all other taxes do.
