That would be funny if it wasn't so close to the truth. Some of those security people are almost aggressive in their manner. Brings to mind a question;
How do they deal with a person who has a colostomy bag? Could you have a fake bag attached to your bod that actually contained some of the chemicals the security boffins are so worried about? Not any weirder than lining your underwear with plastic explosives like that guy on Xmas day, is it?
metalman.
As long as the Americans continue to do things in a knee-jerk post incident method they will never get control of anything...
now they are screening people coming into the states with body searches and baggage searches....what a joke, if they wanted t oblow up planes they would have already done it, not wait to reboard an new flight...
high paid people scrambling to save their jobs I fear....
I have to say yes all the time unless I just went to the bathroom just before going thru security.
Metalman, you're scaring the heck out
of those conspiracy theorists some of
whom are in fact working airport security, you're gonna scare the heck out of CBSA and
homeland security. Shucks, they may ask you
to come work for them.
But seriously, you've raised a valid point.
Have a couple of friends who went to Big White recently. They were quite amazed at the difference in the people that manned the security stations at PG and Kelowna. Specifically, in Kelowna they were talked to politely and with respect. In PG, they felt as thought they were guilty of most of the heinous crimes imaginable!
Have to counter your friends' comments Doc. We recently flew (Westjet of course)
PG-Vancouver-Lost Wages and back, and for once, were treated courteously by all of the security people all the way through.
Heck, one person even said 'please' remove your boots sir. The security people at the PG Regional/International airport were friendly and professional, as they usually are, in my own experience.
metalman.
Metalman,

The $#!+ will really hit the fan if someone blows up a plane with a colostomy bag :)

It does raise some valid questions through. The thing with body scanners and so on appears to be more about giving the appearance of doing something, rather than actually protecting people.

If I were an Al Quada terrorist I'd learn Spanish, get a poncho and sombrero, and then walk across the U.S. border with the rest of the illegal immigrants. If poor migrant workers can infiltrate U.S. security, then certainly highly-trained terrorist operatives can.
