Prince George,  B.C.-  Earlier today, Prince George RCMP executed a  search warrant on a marijuana grow op in the 3900  block of Second Avenue.

The warrant was execued on a duplex where both basements were being used for  growing marijuana.

RCMP seized 423 plants and related equipment.

BC Hydro   and  the City of Prince George  assisted with dismantling the operation as police say there was an illicit BC Hydro bypass being  used.  The   person or  persons responsible for  the  grow op are still under investigation as they were not present when the warrant was  executed.

Do you mean 1900 block of 2nd ave (or 900)? No 3900 block of 2nd ave in PG.
There is a duplex on the south side of 2nd Avenue between Ruggles and Quinn numbered as definde above. Not quite downtown.
Your right Gus. Forgot about 2nd ave in that area.
That's where it is. Not downtown. Absentee owner....gang related tenant perhaps??
Its funny how these people are educated enough or dumb enough to get a hydro bypass but are not smart enough to realize that hydro knows how much power is being distributed and how much they are getting paid for.
Well done RCMP. Two grow-ops in the past week!! Definitely good news. Once again the person responsible for bypassing the meter didn't get the shock of his life. Maybe next time!

A lot of emphasis on drunk driving these days (good news too) but getting rid of grow ops is just as important. I'm sure for every grow op destroyed, there is another one starting up. Can't give up though.
why are the RCMP not going after the crackshacks with the same enthusiasim?? that is the drug that is killing more people and causing a lot more problems than pot smokers. Pot smokers are too damn laid back to go out and rob a place when they get high, they are just looking for munchies then!! LOL
Grow-Ops, Crackshacks, Drunk Drivers......

They are all wrong and need to be dealt with. The police can't stop their efforts in any of their efforts to get rid of them.
Once you put in a bypass, Hydro has no idea how much power is being used, or who is using it. If they did then there would be no point in a bypass, right???
"why are the RCMP not going after the crackshacks with the same enthusiasim?? that is the drug that is killing more people and causing a lot more problems than pot smokers"

Large scale grow ops are directly linked to organized crime. In fact, one could almost make a case that the grow ops are worse because this is the stuff that gets exported and traded for hard drugs and weapons coming back the other way. It's essentially a currency for organized crime. The cops have to go after all of it because it's all connected. Maybe the pot smokers should think about how their actions are contributing to the overall problem.
