Police Close Highway 16 Near Bednesti Following A Truck -Transport Crash

Prince George- Highway 16 west 11 kilometres east of Bednesti is closed in both directions following an accident between a transport truck and a pickup truck.

The accident occurred at 7.15 Wednesday night sending both vehicles into the ditch. It is not known when the road will re-open.

The extent of the injuries, and the number of people involved is not immediately known.

I heard it was a fatality for the guy driving the pick up truck. Lone occupant I think.. crossed the center line it sounds like....

Might as well put up a big gate after Bearverley and just keep that highway closed.

The hwy between PG and Bednesti has always been a nightmare due to an extreme lack of adequate maintenance work during winter conditions.

The hwy between Bednesti and Vanderhoof is not an issue due to excellent maintenance work including preventive maintenance work during winter conditions.
