Dollars Keep Rolling in for Haiti
By 250 News
Prince George, B.C.- Canadians continue to show their generosity towards the relief efforts for Haiti.
The donations so far to the Canada For Haiti telethon campaign total $18 million dollars. That means, with the Federal Government matching dollar for dollar, a full $36 million has been raised. The Federal Government has announced it is removing the $50 million dollar cap it had initially put on the dollar for dollar offer. More than 100 thousand Canadians made a donation either on the phone, or on line.
In Prince George, the donations to the Red Cross alone have topped $65 thousand, and that office was open all day Saturday to collect further donations.
You can still make a donation to the Canada for Haiti campaign by calling 1-877-51-HAITI, or by going on line to www.canadaforhaiti.com . Donations of $20 or more qualify for a tax receipt.

I really hope that the money that is collected will really go to the people. It would be nice if it could be spent locally or somewhere in Canada. Valued added products. Not raw products.
I also hope that we have money left over to help the school that is closing, or the hospital that has to close beds. What about our goverment matching the money we raise for our local school to stay open.
I hope our goverment has money left over to help our people close to home when the big one hits.
Hopefully its not during the Olymics.
