Princeton Named GamesTown2010

Prince George, B.C.-   The city of Prince George was a finalist in its category, but didn’t make it to the podium in the GamesTown 2010 competition.

The town of Princeton rallied together to proudly display its healthy living and Olympic spirit and capture the title of GamesTown 2010. 

Princeton takes the Gold medal, a $100 thousand dollar prize to upgrade a local healthy living or sport facility and five pairs of tickets to the Olympics. 

Dawson Creek takes home the silver medal, $50 thousand dollars and two pairs of Olympic tickets, and Kamloops picks up the bronze medal,$25 thousand dollars and one pair of tickets. 

Entries for GamesTown 2010 were judged by a GamesTown 2010 celebrity panel based on criteria that included promotion and support of healthy living and environmental sustainability, Olympic spirit, level of community engagement at recreation facilities and in amateur sports, and participation in the World Healthy Living Challenge.

It's not hard to beat a town that is this far north.
Other Cities/Towns that were runner ups the same as Prince George.

Houston, Quesnel, Coquitlam, Kelowna, Smithers, Salmon Arm.
Dawson's further north, and they still beat PG
