Prince George, B.C.- A 36 year old woman from Kitchener is facing three charges of assault following a series of incidents on a recent Vancouver to Toronto Air Canada flight.
Prince George City Councilor Cameron Stolz was on board that flight, heading to Toronto on personal business when he jumped to the aid of a flight attendant who was accosted by an agitated female passenger. The passenger had grabbed the flight attendant by the wrist pushed her into the galley, and according to witnesses, had punched her in the chest. That was when Councilor Stolz jumped out of his seat, and placed himself between the flight attendant and the agitated passenger and got the passenger to calm down. He then escorted the passenger back to her seat.
Witnesses tell Opinion 250 it appeared the woman had been drinking, and her travelling companion had indicated she also took some pills before the flight.
Witnesses say members of the flight crew were punched two more times before the plane finally landed at Pearson International. The flight was met by 5 Peel Regional Police Officers who escorted a female passenger off the plane.
Charged with three counts of assault is 36 year old Sheila Bruce of Kitchener Ontario.
