Salt Lake City, Utah -- Prince George speedskater, Tim Hempsall, has captured silver and bronze medals at the North Amercian Speedskating Championships.
The 17-year-old with Blizzards Speedskating Club won a silver medal in the Men's Junior 'B' 1500-metre, and a bronze in the 3000-metre distance. He
also placed fourth in the 1000 meter distance, just .15 seconds out of medal contention.
The competition was Hempsall's last long track competition for some time, as he plans on focusing on short-track speedskating training in the fall at the Olympic Oval in Calgary.
The local athlete says he was very happy with his performance this weekend.
