She's Off...Tandy Racing This Morning
By 250 Sports
Whistler, B.C. - Prince George Biathlete Megan Tandy is off-and-racing in the Women's 15-km Individual Race...
She left from the starting line at 10:43am...participating in her final individual event at the 2010 Winter Games.
87 competitors are taking part in the event...the staggered start has them leaving in 30-second intervals.
Analysts say the wind at the shooting range is interesting this morning...blowing inconsistently.
A miss at the range means a 1-minute penalty is tacked onto the racer's time.
Tandy has really been the 'story' at the Games for Canada's Women's Biathlon team -- her 46th place finish in the 7.5-km Sprint earned her the title of first Canadian woman to qualify for the 10-km Pursuit. She moved up 10 spots in that race, to finish in 36th.
