UNBC B-Ball Teams End Season At Top

Prince George, B.C. - The UNBC Men and Women Timberwolves have both finished the BCCAA Basketball regular season in 1st place, after weekend home games agains the Vancouver Island Mariners.

The men beat VIM 80-69 on Friday and 79-75 yesterday at the Northern Sports Centre to finish in first place in the league -- a first for the Men Timberwoves -- with a 17-and-1 record.  The Mariners came second at 16-and-2.

The Women Timberwolves also swept their weekend games against VIM 67-60 on Friday and 85-68 yesterday.  The T-Wolves fought back in yesterday's game, outscoring the Mariners 47-26 in the second half for the victory.  The Women also finished the season in first place, for the first time, with a 17-and-1 record.


Both teams have earned a first round bye in the six-team BCCAA playoff tournament, which runs March 4th-6th in Nanaimo.
